만성 질환

병의 경과의 장단에 의한 분류. 보통 6개월 혹은 l년 이상 계속되는 질환을 말하며, 급성 질환과 대응한다. 그 증세가 완만하게 나타나 장기간 지속하므로 만성 증상이라 하며, 이것도 급성 질환에서의 급성 증상에 대응하는 말이다. 대표적인 만성 질한으로는 결핵, 나병, 매독 등이 있고, 급성 질환에서 이행하는 것도 많다. 단순히 알코올 중독이나 관절 류머티즘 등의 경우는 만성으로 보는 경우가 많다.
