| 설명 | 이것은 주로 소아에서 백일해 균에 의해서 발생하는 상기도(위쪽의 기도를 말함. 즉 인두, 후두, 기관을 말함)감염증이다. 특징적인 갑작스런 큰 기침이 증상으로 나타난다. 치료는 항생제의 투여이며, 때로는 폐렴으로 발전하기도 한다. 현재 우리나라에서는 백일해에 대한 예방접종을 디프테리아(diphteria), 파상풍(tetanus)과 같이 실시하고 있다. |

In a week or two the paroxysmal stage begins, with the characteristic paroxysmal cough, consisting of a deep inspiration, followed by a series of quick, short coughs, continuing until the air is expelled from the lungs, the close of the paroxysm is marked by a long drawn, shrill, whooping inspiration, due to spasmodic closure of the glottis.
