| 설명 | 자궁이란 태아가 수태되어서 분만전까지 발육하고 성장하는 공간이다. 자궁속에 병변이 있어 임신이 계속될 수 없거나 아니면 다른 이유로 임신되어 있는 태아를 제거하고자 할 경우에 사용되는 방법이다. 여기서 긁어내기 위하여는 우선 자궁의 입구에 해당하는 자궁목을 확장시켜야 한다. 여기에는 급속히 확장을 시도하는 법과 서서히 확장을 시도하는 2가지 방법이 있다. 자궁목을 급속히 확장할 때는 헤가르 목관확장기(Hegar's dilatator)를 사용한다. 이것은 작은 금속막대로 작은 크기부터 큰 크기까지 다양한 크기가 있어서 우선 작은 막대로 시작하여 점점 큰 크기의 막대를 자궁목에 넣어서 자궁목을 확장시킨다. 서서히 확장시킬 때는 Laminaria tent를 목관에 삽입하는 방법을 사용한다. Laminaria tent란 해초로 만든 작은 막대로 수분을 흡수하면 점점 늘어나는 성질이 있다. 이것을 자궁의 목에 넣으면 이것이 수분을 흡수하여 늘어나므로 천천히 자궁의 목이 늘어난다. 자궁목이 충분히 늘어나면 그 속으로 끝이 숟가락처럼 생긴 기구를 넣어서 자궁속의 병변이나 임신된 태아를 긁어내는데 여기에 사용되는 숟가락처럼 생긴 기구를 큐렛이라고 한다. 초기 임신중절 즉 유산과 같은 임신과 관련된 경우뿐만 아니라, 비임신 자궁의 자궁내막조직의 채취 및 제거를 위해서도 행해지는 수기이다. 이는 원칙적으로 마취하에 실시되는 것으로 자궁목관을 확장하고 기구로 자궁 내용물을 제거하고 큐렛으로 자궁내벽을 깨끗이 한다. 자궁천공이나 자궁목의 파열 등의 위험이 따르며, 수술후 감염 또는 출혈 등에 대한 주의가 필요하다. |

| 설명 | 안구의 각막과 수정체 사이에 있는 둥근 모양의 얇은 막. 막의 중앙에 동공이 있으며, 홍채의 신축으로 동공이 축소되거나 확대되어 안구에 들어오는 빛의 양을 조절한다. 인종에 따라 색소가 다른다. 눈동자의 주위에 있는 고리 모양의 막, 검은 눈동자의 본체는 각막을 통해 흑색으로 보이는 홍채이다. 중앙에 원형의 동공이 있고, 이 곳을 통하여 전안방과 후안방이 이어진다. 홍채가 이완하거나 수축함에 따라 동공의 크기가 변하고 따라서 망막에 달하는 광선의 양이 조절된다. 즉, 홍채는 카메라의 조리개에 해당한다. 홍채의 이완과 수축은 그 속에 있는 동공산대근 및 동공조임근에 의하여 이루어진다. 홍채의 외주연은 섬모체연이라고 하며, 모양체에 연결되어 있다. 또 내측연, 즉 동공의 외주연은 동공연이라고 한다. 홍채의 조직은 색소세포가 풍부한 층으로 되어 있는데, 그 색소의 빛깔이나 혈관의 다소에 의하여 홍채의 빛깔이 달라 보인다.  |

| 설명 | 세포내의 세포질 소기관. 골지장치라고도 한다. 1898년 이탈리아의 C. 골지에 의해 올빼미의 신경세포체에서 발견되었으며, 이후 다른 세포에서, 또 근래에는 식물세포에서도 발견되고 있다. 전자 현미경에 의한 연구에서 골지체에 해당되는 부분은 층상구조-꽈리구조-알갱이 구조의 세가지로 되어 있으며, 이것을 골지역이라 한다. 그 작용은 명확하지는 않으나 샘세포의 소포체에서 합성된 분비물이 골지역에서 농축되어 분비과립이 되고, 그 과립의 외측에 막이 형성된다고 생각되고 있다. 골지체는 막구조를 주로 하기 때문에 인지질과 단백질을 많이 가지며 알칼리성 포스파타아제-비타민 C-카로틴 등을 함유한다. |

| 설명 | 음식-운동-정신감동 등 체온에 영향을 줄 만한 여러 조건을 피하여 몸과 마음이 안정되었을 때 잰 체온, 보통 아침에 눈을 뜬 직후에 재며, 여성의 경우 월경 주기에 따라 달라지므로 수태 조절이나 자궁, 난소의 병 진단에 응용한다. 6~8시간의 안정된 수면을 취한 후 아침 일찍 깨어나, 잠자리에서 나오기 전에 체온계를 입에 물어서 측정한다. 미묘한 체온의 차이를 측정하는 것이므로 여성체온계를 사용하는 것이 좋다. 이 여성체온계의 수은구부를 혀의 아랫면에 끼우고서 입을 가볍게 다물고 약 5분 동안 있다가 측정하면 된다. 정상적인 기초체온은 복잡한 성주기의 변화를 보이기 때문에 월경주기에 관한 각종 진단을 비롯하여 임신-유산-이상임신의 진단과 수태조절 등에 응용하는 등 여러 가지 효과적인 자료가 된다. |
