DMF r. an expression of the condition of the teeth based on the number of teeth decayed, missing, indicated for removal and of those filled or bearing restorations: calculated by adding the number of carious permanent teeth requiring filling (D), carious permanent teeth requiring extraction (Mr), permanent teeth previously extracted because of caries (Mp), and permanent teeth filled (F) Number of DMF teeth per child of a specific age or age group is calculated by the formula: D + Mr + Mp + Fnumber of children examined   = DMF.
