an in vitro test for anaphylactic sensitization in the guinea pig: a small amount of the antigen added to a tissue bath in which is immersed the excised uterine horn (smooth muscle) of an anaphylactically sensitized guinea pig causes contraction of the sensitized uterine muscle. Called also Schultz-Dale r. NOTE: Schultz employed intestinal muscle; Dale used uterine muscle from virgin guinea pigs.
