| congenital absence of pulmonary valve | <radiology> BIG central pulmonary arteries, big RV (12 Dec 1998) |
|---|---|
| aortic valve stenosis | Narrowing of the orifice of the aortic valve or of the supravalular or subvalvular regions. (12 Dec 1998) |
| mitral valve stenosis | A rheumatic disease causing diffuse thickening of the mitral valve leaflets by fibrous tissue or calcific deposits. (harrisons' principles of internal medicine, 13th ed, p1052) (12 Dec 1998) |
| tricuspid valve stenosis | The pathologic narrowing of the orifice of the tricuspid valve. (12 Dec 1998) |
| congenital pyloric stenosis | <radiology> Not seen until 3 weeks, projectile vomiting, palpable olive in RUQ/epigastrium (12 Dec 1998) |
| pulmonary stenosis | <cardiology> A congenital or acquired heart valve defect. The abnormal narrowing and ineffective opening of the pulmonic valve. Symptoms include cyanosis and difficulty breathing. Treatment is surgical in most cases of significant valvular stenosis. (27 Sep 1997) |
| pulmonary subvalvular stenosis | Stenosis of the conus arteriosus (infundibulum) with or without involvement of the pulmonary valve. It is usually associated with a defect in the interventricular septum. (12 Dec 1998) |
| congenital valve | An abnormal lining fold obstructing a passage; e.g., of a mucous membrane in the urethra. (05 Mar 2000) |
| valve of pulmonary trunk | <anatomy, cardiology> The heart valve that divides the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery. The pulmonic valve opens when the right ventricle contracts allowing blood to flow into the pulmonary artery. The pulmonic valve on closure prohibits the backwash of unoxygenated blood into the right ventricle. The pulmonic valve has 3 valve cusps. (27 Sep 1997) |

| pulmonary valve insufficiency | Backflow of blood from the pulmonary artery into the right ventricle, owing to imperfect functioning of the pulmonary valve. (12 Dec 1998) |
| congenital pulmonary arteriovenous fistula | Abnormal congenital communication between pulmonary arteries and veins usually found in the lung parenchyma. (05 Mar 2000) |
| aortic stenosis | Progressive narrowing of the aortic valve resulting in the obstructed passage of blood from the left ventricle into the aorta. Causes for aortic stenosis include rheumatic fever, congenital and idiopathic sclerosis. Chronic stenosis can lead to left ventricular enlargement and congestive heart failure. (27 Sep 1997) |
