chronic myeloid leukemia CML. A slowly progressing disease in which too many white blood cells are made in the bone marrow. Also called chronic myelogenous leukemia or chronic granulocytic leukemia.

chronic myeloid leukemia A leukemia which is initially slowly progressing. It is characterized by the presence of large numbers of abnormal, mature granulocytes, circulating in the blood. Sometimes called chronic granulocytic leukemia (CGL).
