CD35 or C3b receptor; a membrane glycoprotein specific for C3b and C4b and expressed on erythrocytes and many other cell types including neutrophils, monocytes, T and B lymphocytes, and eosinophils; its roles include inhibition of C3 convertases, stimulation of phagocytosis of complement-coated particles and microorganisms, and clearance of immune complexes from the circulation.
