| sulfisoxazole | <chemical> 4-amino-n-(3,4-dimethyl-5-isoxazolyl)benzenesulfonamide. One of the antibacterial sulfonamides generally used for treatment of infections. It is bacteriostatic against a wide range of gram- negative and gram-positive organisms, but acquired resistance is common. Pharmacological action: anti-infective agents.
