C protein <cell biology> Striated muscle thick filament associated proteins (140-150 kD) that show up in the C zone of the A band as 43nm transverse stripes. Structurally related to various other myosin binding proteins (twitchin, titin, myosin light chain kinase, skelemin, 86 kD protein, projectin, M protein).
