August 8, 2002 Reviewer: A reader This tome (and it indeed _is_ a tome!) is a fine investment for those who are really, really deep into Latin (ie, *very* serious scholars, translators, those pursuing a college degree in Latin, etc, etc.). For the majority of us mortals and casual dilettantes, the fabulous Oxford Latin Dictionary is superfluous and overkill (especially considering its price), in my opinion.

I felt that it gives away too much of the movie, the others didn't discuss as much plot development. Other than the originals, it discusses the future, refering to the destruction of the Death Star, and other events that happen in later movies. I was given the assumption from the other visual dictionaries that they are written "in the moment" acting as if there were no other movies. ...

Rated Yes, this is an excellent book, although I think one reviewer goes too far when he describes it as the work of a genius! My real gripe however is that is probably out of date even before it goes to publication. And I know it's good to thum through a real book, but it's a costly item and more up to date information can be found on the net.
