a form-class of Fungi Imperfecti (subphylum Deuteromycotina), comprising the yeasts. Most members of the group do not have known teleomorphs; those that do are classified under Ascomycotina or Basidiomycotina. The form-family Cryptococcaceae is sometimes classified here and sometimes in Hyphomycetes.
