재태기간 주수에서의 출생시 평균체중이 2kg 이내인 아기를 영어로 AFD(appropriate for dates)아, 1,5kg 이하를 SED(small for dates)아 또는 LED(light for dates)아, 1,5kg 이상의 것을 LFD(large for dates)아 또는 HFD(heavy for dates)아로 부른다.

| communicating branches of auriculotemporal nerve to facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> Branches conveying fibres from the auriculotemporal nerve to the facial nerve. Synonym: rami communicantes nervi auriculotemporalis cum nervo faciali. (05 Mar 2000) |
|---|---|
| communicating branch of facial nerve with glossopharyngeal nerve | <anatomy, nerve> A small branch from the digastric branch of the facial nerve to the glossopharyngeal nerve. Synonym: ramus communicans cum nervo glossopharyngeo, Haller's ansa. (05 Mar 2000) |
| axillary nerve injury | <neurology> A condition involving dysfunction of the axillary nerve which normally supplies the deltoid and teres minor muscles and sensation to the lateral aspect of the shoulder. This condition is a type of peripheral neuropathy that may manifest as the result of a variety of disease processes or injuries. Conditions associated with axillary nerve dysfunction include mononeuritis multiplex, fracture of the humerus, abduction injury to the shoulder, pressure to the armpit from a cast, splint or crutches. Symptoms include numbness over the outer portion of the shoulder, shoulder weakness and difficulty lifting arm or objects over your head. An EMG, nerve conduction study or muscle biopsy can be helpful in making the diagnosis. Recovery is generally spontaneous if the underlying cause can be corrected and shoulder mobility is preserved. Corticosteroid injections may be indicated in some instances. (02 Jan 1998) |
| area of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> The area in the fundus of the internal acoustic meatus superior to the transverse crest through which the facial nerve passes to enter the facial canal. Synonym: area nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| buccal branches of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> Motor branches of the facial nerve distributed to buccina or muscle and other muscles of facial expression below orbit and above chin. Synonym: rami buccales nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ganglion of facial nerve | The sensory ganglion of the facial (7th cranial) nerve. The geniculate ganglion cells send central processes to the brainstem and peripheral processes to the taste buds in the anterior tongue, the soft palate, and the skin of the external auditory meatus and the mastoid process. (12 Dec 1998) |
| geniculum of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> A rectangular bend of the facial nerve in the facial canal where it turns posterior in the medial wall of the middle ear (external geniculum), complex loop of facial nerve fibres around the abducens nucleus (internal geniculum). Synonym: geniculum nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| marginal mandibular branch of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> Branch of facial nerve which parallels the mandibular margin innervating risorius muscle and muscles of lower lip and chin. Synonym: ramus marginalis mandibulae nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| genu of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> The curve which the fibres of the root of the facial nerve describe around the abducens nucleus in the pontine tegmentum; the internal genu of the facial nerve. Synonym: genu nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| cervical branch of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> The most inferior branch of the parotid plexus of the facial nerve, it descends to innervate the platysma muscle. Synonym: ramus colli nervi facialis, ramus cervicalis nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| root of facial nerve | <anatomy, nerve> Fibres running from the facial motor nucleus upward to the facial colliculus where they curve around the abducens nucleus and then pass peripherally between the superior olive and sensory nucleus of the trigeminal, to emerge as the facial nerve from the pontomedullary groove. Synonym: radix nervi facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| communicating branch of facial nerve with tympanic plexus | A fine branch of facial nerve joining the tympanic branch of the glossopharyngeal nerve. Synonym: ramus communicans nervi facialis cum plexu tympanico. (05 Mar 2000) |
| motor nucleus of facial nerve | A group of motor neurons located in the ventrolateral region of the lower pontine tegmentum and innervating the facial muscles, the stapedius muscle in the middle ear, the posterior limb of the musculus digastricus, and the stylohyoid muscle. Synonym: nucleus nervi facialis, facial motor nucleus, motor nucleus of facial nerve, nucleus facialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
