| 설명 | 히스타민의 역할을 막는 약제를 이르는 말. 히스타민이란 비만세포와 호염구라는 세포에 많이 있는 물질로써 기능은 다음과 같다. 1. 모세혈관의 이완과 투과성의 증가 2. 내장에 분포하는 근육의 수축 3. 위산의 분비촉진 4. 심장박동수의 증가 히스타민이 분비되어 다른 세포에 영향을 주어 위와 같은 역할을 하려면 반드시 세포 표면에 있는 히스타민 수용체와 결합을 하여야 한다. 이 히스타민 수용체에는 두 가지가 있다. 하나는 H1－수용체라 고 하는 것인데 이 수용체는 위의 작용 중에서 1, 2번의 작용을 매개 한다. 즉 H1－수용체에 히스타민이 부착할 때에 위의 1, 2번과 같은 작용이 일어난다. 다른 하나는 H2수용체라고 하는것인데 이것은 3, 4번의 작용을 매개한다. 그리고 항히스타민제도 각각 H2수용체에 작용하는 것이 있고, H2－수용체에 작용하는 것이 있다. H1수용체에 작용하는 항히스타민 약은 위의 1, 2번 증상의 완화에 쓰인다. 위의 1, 2번 증상은 대개 알레르기 반응(기관지천식이나 알레르기 코염)과 관계가 있어서 알레르기의 치료약으로 많이 쓰인다. H2수용체에 작용하는 항히스타민약은 대개 위산분비가 많아서 생기는 위궤양의 치료약으로 쓰인다. |

| 설명 | 약을 투여하는 방법에는 여러 가지가 있다. 크게 나누어 보면, 입을 거쳐 위창자계를 통해 넣는 방법과 위창자계를 통하지 않고 바로 혈액으로 넣는 방법이 있다. 위창자계를 통하지 않는 방법으로 가장 흔한 방법은 주사를 이용하는 방법이다. 하지만, 이외에 항문을 통해 넣는 좌약식방법과 혀밑에 넣는 혀밑투여법도 있다. 그러나 대부분의 약제는 경구복용을 하게 된다. 경구복용에 대한 약자는 p.o.(per oral)로 표기한다. 경구복용제의 단점은 복용한 약제가 위창자관계를 거치면서 사람마다 각기 다른 흡수정도와 대사정도를 거치게 되므로 일정한 농도유지가 어렵다는데 있다. 또한 경구복용제의 모양이 캡슐형인지, 혹은 가루형인지에 따라서도 같은 약이지만, 서로 다른 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. |
