| 설명 | 두 개이상의 아미노산 분자 사이에서, 한쪽의 아미노기와 다른 쪽의 카르복실기가 물 분자를 잃으면서 축합하여 이루는 아미드 결합아미노산의 수가 2, 3, … 인 경우, 각각 디펩티드, 트리펩티드, …등으로 부르며, 여러 개의 아미노산으로 구성되는 것을 올리고펩티드, 이보다 큰 것을 폴리펩티드라고 한다. 직쇄상의 것이 많지만, 환상 구조를 갖는 펩티드도 있다. 저분자의 펩티드는 물, 산, 알칼리 따위에 잘 녹고 알코올에는 녹지 않으나, 고분자의 펩티드는 물에 잘 녹지 않고 단백질과 성질이 비슷하다. 뇌하수체호르몬, 브라디키닌 등과 같이 생리적기능이 현저한 것은 생리활성펩티드(bioactive peptide)라고 한다. |
