[EC 1.1.1.35] an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the oxidation at the C-3 of L-hydroxyacyl coenzyme A to form ketoacyl coenzyme A, using NAD+ as an electron acceptor. The reaction is one of the steps in fatty acid oxidation.
