| 설명 | Trichuris trichiura는 막창자, 막창자꼬리 및 큰창자점막에 채찍 모양의 마리 부분을 삽입시켜 기생하며 거의 임상 증상을 일으키지 않는다. 그러난 충체수가 많으면 충체에 의한 흡혈과 출혈로 빈혈이 생기며 막창자꼬리 내강을 폐쇄시킴으로 충수염의 증상을 일으킬 수 있다. |

It may be the most common helminthic infection found in Americans returning from subtropical and tropical areas. Children and the mentally retarded have the highest rate of infection due to a general lack of sanitary habits. The worms are 30-50 mm in length and attach themselves to the mucosa of the large intestine. Adult worms may live 4-8 years. Treatment is with mebendazole. (19 Jan 1998) |
