| 설명 | 갑상샘에서 분비되는 결정성 옥소함유호르몬. 3, 5, 3’, 5’-tetraiodothyronine(T4). 주요기능은 세포의 대사를 증가시키는 것이다. 말초조직에서 옥소 한 분자를 소실하여 triiodothyronine(T3)이 되며 이 triiodothyronine이 갑상샘호르몬의 활성조직형이며 생물학적으로 더욱 강력한 작용을 일으킨다. 화학적으로 생성하는 티록신은 갑상샘기능저하증의 치료에 사용되기도 한다. 갑상샘 호르몬은 거의 모든 체세포에서 기질대사에 관여하여 에너지생성을 증가시키고 성장 발육을 촉진한다. |

Thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG) is one of three proteins responsible for carrying the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and 3,5,3’-triiodothyronine (T3) in the bloodstream, along with transthyretin and albumin.
