| srs-a | A group of leukotrienes (ltc4, ltd4, and lte4) that is the major mediator of bronchial constriction and other allergic reactions. Earlier studies had described a "slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis" released from guinea pig and cat lung by cobra venom, and in guinea pig lung after anaphylactic shock. The relationship between srs-a and members of the leukotriene family was established following publication of the uv spectrum of purified srs-a, that showed the presence of the conjugated triene. Somatostatin receptor scintigraphy. A type of radionuclide scan used to find carcinoid and other types of tumors. In SRS, radioactive octreotide, a drug similar to somatostatin, is injected into a vein and travels through the bloodstream. The radioactive octreotide attaches to tumor cells that have receptors for somatostatin. A radiation-measuring device detects the radioactive octreotide, and makes pictures showing where the tumor cells are in the body. ...

Many FTMs undergo chest surgery, but not GRS. Many have chest surgery and a hysterectomy, but not GRS. ...
