a chronic eruption consisting of red to brown, scaly lesions with a netlike distribution, intermixed with which are deep red plaques, some exhibiting lichenoid papules, which is histologically similar to large plaque parapsoriasis (considered by some authorities to be a variant) except that atrophy and poikiloderma are prominent features. It is the form of parapsoriasis from which cutaneous T-cell lymphoma is most likely to arise. Called also p. lichenoides, p. variegata, and parakeratosis variegata.
