The branch of chemistry that focuses on the constituents of plants (phyto comes from the Greek word for plant). Often, phytochemistry deals specifically with the chemistry of medicinal plants. This discipline can also include studies of how to extract, concentrate, analyze, standardize, & preserve herbal products.
