| 설명 | 금속성 베릴륨 또는 그 산화물의 먼지이나 증기에 노출되어 생기는 병으로 짧은 시간동안 심하게 노출되면 급성폐렴이 발생하고 좀더 긴 시간동안 저 농도에 노출되면 허파를 포함하여 피부, 피하조직, 림프절, 간 및 기타 구조에 육아종 형성을 특징으로 하는 병적 증상이 나타난다. 1930, 1940년대에 유럽과 미국에서 형광등 제조공장 근로자에게 발생하였으나 중지되었고, 근래 우주산업에 베릴륨을 다시 사용하여 발생위험성은 상존하고 있다. |

Berylliosis is a chronic lung disease caused by prolonged exposure to beryllium, a chemical irritant to the lungs. With prolonged exposure, the lungs become hypersensitive to it causing the development of small inflammatory nodules, called granulomas. Granulomas are seen in other chronic diseases, such as tuberculosis and sarcoidosis, and it can occasionally be hard to distinguish berylliosis from these disorders. ...
