영문 treadmill 한글 답차
설명   
  너비가 넓은 벨트로 된 바닥을 모터로 회전시키고, 그 위를 회전방향과 반대방향으로 걷거나 뛰는 장치. 에르고미터(ergometer)의 하나이다. 정확하게는 motor driven treadmill이라고 한다. 작업량은 체중×이동거리(보행 또는 주행거리)에 거의 비례한다고 하지만, 자전거 에르고미터만큼 정확한 수치가 얻어지지 않으므로, 작업량 그 자체를 알기 위해서는 거의 사용되지 않는다. 보행이나 주행은 특별히 연습을 필요로 하지 않는 작업이므로, 작업부하에 수반되는 생체의 기능을 측정할 때의 작업부하용으로, 사람뿐만 아니라 동물에도 널리 사용된다. 작업부하 조건은 벨트바닥의 이동 속도를 바꾼다거나 바닥의 경사를 바꿈으로써 조절한다. 원형은 감옥 내에서 징벌로 죄수에게 밟게 한 수레에서 비롯되었다고 한다.

    발한 요법
    약제나 물리적 방법에 의해 인공적으로 발한시켜 체열을 발산, 또는 발한에 의한 수분 방출을 이용하여 부종을 제거하는 요법. 한법, 해법이라고도 한다. 즉, 발한시킴으로써 신진 대사 산물 또는 체내에 축적된 이상물질을 배제시키거나, 때로는 비특이 변조 효과를 기대하는 치료법이다. 보통 감기의 초기나 급성 상기도염의 발열 시에 아스피린, 페나세틴 등의 약제를 복용하고 따뜻한 방에서 옷을 두껍게 입고 땀을 빼게 하는 방법이 흔히 쓰이고 있다. 이 밖에 열탕욕을 하는 경우도 있으며, 이와 같은 경우 발한 후에도 몸을 계속 덥게 유지할 필요가 있다. 심장 쇠약, 탈수증, 출혈 과다, 진액 손실 등에는 이를 금한다.

treadmill, exercise A continuous EKG recording of the heart as the patient performs increasing levels of exercise. In addition to detecting abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), the exercise treadmill is a screening test for the presence of narrowed coronary arteries that can limit the supply of oxygenated blood to the heart muscle during exercise.

treadmilling <cell biology> Name given to the proposed process in microtubules in which there is continual addition of subunits at one end and disassembly at the other, so that the tubule stays of constant length, but individual subunits move along.
Could in principle be used as a transport mechanism, although this is not currently favoured as a possibility. Has also been suggested for microfilaments.

treatment Supportive care must be provided to animals that have clinical signs. Subcutaneous or intravenous fluids are given to dehydrated animals, and severely anemic dogs may require a blood transfusion. Treatment for ehrlichiosis involves the use of antibiotics such as doxycycline for a period of at least six to eight weeks; response to the drugs may take one month. In addition, steroids may be indicated in severe cases in which the level of platelets is so low that the condition is life threatening.
