White lead made of lead carbonate. Once used as a waxy paint to coat large surfaces. Plato said that the outer wall of the seaport city of Atlantis was covered with CERUSE - if so, then perhaps the Atlanteans and their Old World colonies may have suffered from SATURNISM, which in turned, could have resulted in a great civil war among our ancestors in ancient times. See SATURNISM.
