| 설명 | 합목적적으로 발현되는 프로그램된 세포사를 말한다. 종래에는 세포사란 괴사 즉 화상 등으로 인하여 한무리의 세포가 죽는 것이라 이해되었으나 1972년 Kerr, Wylliie, Currie의 세 병리학자가 형태적으로 명백하게 다른 또 하나의 세포사를 발견하고 이를 아포푸토시스라고 정의했다. 그 뒤의 연구를 통해 발생단계에서 어느 특정세포가 일정시기, 장소, 순서에 의해죽어감으로써 정상적인 발생이 완료하는 것으로 알려졌으며 특별히 프로그램 세포라 부르는 때도 있다. 또한 가슴샘을 중심으로 하는 면역계의 발달과정에서도 이 세포사는 매우 중요한 역할을 한다는 점, 여러 가지 병과의 관련에 있어서 유전자 수준의 해석을 통한 암관련 유전자, 증식유전자 등과의 복잡한 관련도 알려져 있다. 형태적으로 괴사는 세포전체나 사립체가 서서히 팽창되고 세포질의 변화가 선행되며 최종적으로 세포막의 파괴가 일어나는데 비해, 세포자멸사에서는 DNA의 단편화가 선행되고 그 결과 염색질이 핵막주변에 응집하여 핵농축, 핵용해가 일어나며 거의 동시에 세포의 축소라든가 융모 등의 소실되고 결국 세포 전체가 막에 쌓인 크고 작은 세포자멸사 소체로 단편화되고 최종적으로 비염증적으로 큰포식세포에 탐식된다. 세포자멸사는 괴사와 대립적으로 이해되어 왔지만 최근 들어 이들 두가지 세포죽음의 형태의 공통점도 많이 부각되고 있다. |
